VI Group Attends China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2026, Expanding Global Mining Connections

In September 2026, Neil Purcell, Head of Strategic Relationships at VI Group, attended the China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2026 in Tianjin, China. Following VI Group’s participation as an exhibitor in 2025, the Group returned to the conference this year to engage with mining companies, project owners and industry professionals from around the world, gaining further insight into project developments and opportunities across the global mining sector.
Now in its 28th year, the China Mining Conference and Exhibition was held under the theme “Win-Win Cooperation, Green and Intelligent.” The event featured three key components — forums, exhibitions and transactions — with transactions introduced as a core component of the conference this year. Representatives from 60 countries and international organizations attended the event, attracting approximately 31,000 industry professionals. The number of participating countries reached a record high in the conference’s 28-year history.

During the conference, VI Group visited a wide range of exhibition areas, covering mining companies and projects, large-scale mining machinery and equipment, as well as mine automation, digitalization and intelligent mining technologies. Through these site visits and discussions with industry participants, the Group gained a closer view of projects at different stages of development, emerging technology applications and the practical needs of today’s mining market.
International participation was also increasingly visible across the exhibition. Companies from major mining markets including Australia and Canada were well represented, alongside international mining consulting and professional services firms such as SRK, SLR and Mining One. The presence of project owners, mining companies, technology providers and professional advisers from different markets highlighted the increasingly international profile of the conference.
In addition to visiting the exhibition areas, VI Group attended the Central and West Asia Mining Investment Promotion, where representatives from countries and regions across Central and West Asia presented their mineral resources, investment environments and project opportunities. The presentations and face-to-face industry discussions provided further insight into local mining projects, their development needs, and potential investment and industry collaboration opportunities.
The projects and industry capabilities represented at the conference also highlighted the range of support required to advance a mining project. From investment and development through to operations, capital is only one part of the equation. Technical expertise, equipment, engineering, supply chains and market access can all play an important role in moving projects forward.
