Step into the SES event with VI Group

Thank You to Our Orange-Clad Heroes

On 21 May 2025, the VI Group took part in the Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW) campaign, joining State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers to honour and thank the ‘orange-clad heroes’ who selflessly dedicate their lives to helping others.

WOW is an annual commemorative day in Australia that aims to raise awareness of the contributions made by SES volunteers and thank those who wear orange reflective uniforms and work across various industries. These include emergency rescue volunteers, construction safety personnel, and mining and metallurgy workers. Their dedication and efforts are crucial to the smooth running of our society.

On the day of the event, participants express their support in various ways, such as wearing orange clothing, attending WOW events, or volunteering with the SES.

As a company in the mining industry, the VI Group has a soft spot for these ‘orange-clad heroes’. Whether SES volunteers are responding to disasters or miners are working tirelessly in remote areas, they demonstrate their commitment to their responsibilities and mission every time they respond to a call.

VI Group employees participated in the event, taking photos with SES volunteers and posting them on the photo wall to express gratitude and respect for the orange-clad heroes.

Even the working dogs, dressed in orange ‘uniforms’, appeared at the event, combining professionalism with an endearing quality that made everyone smile. These loyal animals also play a crucial role in emergency rescue missions, and the event organisers sincerely thanked them for their contributions.

We pay tribute to every staff member wearing orange reflective vests. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for their selfless actions in stepping forward at a crucial moment to safeguard the community and ensure safety.
